Helmet Delivery Amed - East Bali's Dive Paradise

Amed is actually a series of small fishing villages strung along the northeastern coast of Bali, sheltered by the dramatic slopes of Mount Agung. The area - encompassing Amed Bay itself, Jemeluk, Bunutan, Lipah, Lean, and Selang - has become one of Bali's premier diving and snorkeling destinations, known for excellent visibility, Japanese WWII wreck diving, and the world-class dive site at the nearby USAT Liberty Wreck in Tulamben.

The road through Amed and down to Tulamben is one of Bali's most scenic coastal routes. Riders with helmets explore this stretch, stopping at the salt-making villages around Amed proper, the beach cafes at Jemeluk, and the dive resorts scattered along the coast. The road south from Amed climbs through rice terraces and past traditional Balinese villages before reaching Candidasa and Padang Bai.
